Representatives from throughout the Delta attended the Craft Committee session on industrial supervisory training hosted by Mississippi Delta Junior College last Friday in Stanny Sanders Library Conference room.

They were welcomed to campus by Dr. J.T. Hall and Doug Adams, instructor of industrial personnel training classes. Among those attending the meeting were: (I. to Wade Jones, Delta Council; Doug Adams, MDJC; Ken Oberly, Lewis Grocery C.L Stevenson, Mississippi Vocational Technical Education; Jim Woolridge, Davis-Walker; Buddy Harbin, Industrial Development.

The trio were parked on a door mat soaking up some of the early spring sunshine that briefly warmed Indianola last week. mm Governor's scholar mm p)pD(g (f Gin mm Roger Huey named Governor William Winter has announced that Roger Huey of Moorhead, a senior at Gentry High School, has been named a Governor's Scholar for superior academic achievements. Governor Winter initiated the Governor's Scholar program to recognize scholastic achievement among high school students and to emphasize the importance of academic excellence. Huey, along with other Governor's Scholars from across Mississippi, will participate in the Governor's Colloquium on Science, Engineering and Technology to be held on April 15, in Jackson.

The Colloquium, which is being sponsored by Governor Winter and the Mississippi Academy of Sciences, is part of an effort by the governor to emphasize the importance of developing high caliber scientific and technological skills. The theme of this year's Colloquium is What Should the Mississippi Worker Look Like in the 1980s and Beyond? The Colloquium is part of Governor Winter's continuing effort to promote and develop education in Mississippi. Cooking school cancelled The Gourmet Cooking School scheduled to be taught at Delta State University April 12-13 by Mary Taylor has been cancelled due to illness of the instructor. The cancellation was announced by Dr. Daisy Howell, dean of the Division of Continuing Education.
